Concept
“It's just a phase, Mom.” A phrase we have all used, to dismiss something as fleeting.
This collection uses a single day, dawn to night, as a metaphor for personal growth. Each look captures a moment of internal shift, culminating in nightfall, where the phase ends but leaves lasting change, like the day living on in the memory of the night.
It draws from a defining phase of my life: my time at NIFT Delhi. I entered with curiosity and expectations; I leave with clarity, growth and a more certain mind, still hungry to learn. Each phase is a definitive moment, not to be taken too seriously, because, oh well, it's just a phase, Mom.

Process
Linear form derivation & surface development
Each phase of the day is drawn as a kind of line (structured, uneven, rising and falling, melting, forming, circular, celestial), and each line is then built into a surface: 12-gauge flat knits, dip and splash dyeing, dori and zari embroidery.

It's not without small challenges, but there's a sense of momentum, excitement and structured growth: balance within movement, between the fluidity of exploration and the grounding force of stability. Embodied through structured yet non-linear lines: structure within progress.
